I fell in love with the mountains in 1965 when I was 15 years of age. My mother took me to Mars Hill College in North Carolina to help open the first workshop in theater and after that I did summerstock in Burnsville N.C. The Smokey Mountains made quite an impression on me! I declared to my parents that I would own a mountain one day! Quite an exclamation for a 15 year old! After high school I went on to the University of Georgia to receive a Bachelor Degree in Education and Speech and later received a J.D. degree.
I was born in 1950 and am still wildly in love with the mountains! I have lived in the Cascade Mountains in Oregon, the Rockies in Aspen, Colorado, around the mountains in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and in the Smokey Mountains. I have lived in Blue Ridge since 1992, on 63 acres on the side of a mountain with my husband of 30 years, Charlie, who lost a battle with cancer in 2013.
